Wishbone Bot
Wishbone BotArcfolk · quadratics

A wishbone that splits into plus and minus: the square root property.

Square Root Property

The square root property. In MathBound, the free Algebra I adventure game, Wishbone Bot asks these problems, and the only way past is to solve them.

Part of Solving Quadratic Equations: chapter 10 of the standard course.

10 questions, no sign-up, nothing saved. Climbs from the basics to harder questions.

What you will practice

  • Solve x^2 = k. Solve a basic quadratic equation where the squared variable is isolated by taking the square root of both sides (requires the +/- sign).
  • Isolate the Squared Term. Use algebraic operations to isolate the squared variable term before applying the square root property.
  • Solve (x-h)^2 = k. Apply the square root property to an isolated squared binomial expression and solve for the variable.
