Multiply Square Roots

Multiplying square roots. In MathBound, the free Algebra I adventure game, Root Grafter asks these problems, and the only way past is to solve them.

Part of Radicals and More Functions: chapter 11 of the standard course.

10 questions, no sign-up, nothing saved. Climbs from the basics to harder questions.

What you will practice

  • Multiply Radicals. Multiply square roots of integers and combine into a single radicand using the product property.
  • Multiply and Simplify. Multiply two square roots where the resulting radicand is a perfect square.
  • Multiply with Coefficients. Multiply a square root with a coefficient by a standard square root.
  • Multiply with Variables. Multiply square roots containing variables and simplify the final result.
  • Distribute Radicals. Multiply a single term radical into a binomial containing radicals or integers.
  • Multiply Binomial Radicals. Multiply two binomial expressions containing radicals using the FOIL method and combine like terms.
  • Multiply Conjugates. Multiply binomial conjugate pairs containing radicals to yield a rational number (Difference of Squares pattern).
  • Square a Binomial. Square a binomial containing a radical and an integer.
