Builds a dam against the clock: work problems.

Motion and Work Problems

Work problems. In MathBound, the free Algebra I adventure game, Busy-Beaver Bot asks these problems, and the only way past is to solve them.

10 questions, no sign-up, nothing saved. Climbs from the basics to harder questions.

What you will practice

  • Uniform Motion: Equal Time. Solve motion applications by setting up a rational equation where two entities share the same travel time (t = d/r).
  • Uniform Motion: Currents/Wind. Set up a rational equation for uniform motion where a vehicle travels with and against a current or wind.
  • Work: Solve for Total Time. Solve basic work applications to find the time it takes two entities to complete a task together (1/a + 1/b = 1/t).
  • Work: Relative Rates. Set up a rational equation where one worker takes a specific amount of time longer than another to complete a task.
  • Work: Solve for Individual Time. Set up a basic work equation (1/a + 1/b = 1/t) given individual times to find the combined time.
